What’s up next?

I’m sooo excited! ๐Ÿ™‚

Must try!

An addition to the list of Japanese Restos that you should try would be Ukokkei Ramen Ron (in Arnaiz Road). Behind the yummy noodles and fried meat lies the story of why the Makati City Government asked to have it closed for business a few months ago.

Some stories say it was a political issue, some say a violation of the Makati Revenue Code, but who cares?! It’s now reopened and it just made people more curious.

Anyway, so we had the Ukokkei Miso Chashu Ramen, which tasted really great, quite different from the typical soup that you’ll eat in other Jap restaurants. The serving for me was good enough to share for 2.

And since I was craving for something to eat with rice, we also ordered their Chahan (fried rice) which was typical (a little salty but overall fine) together with their Chicken Karaage.

I personally found it good, the food was gone in less than 10 minutes. Certainly I’d go back to try the other dishes.

I’ve been reading blogs and the common advice was to order the Tan Tan Men which they call their ‘secret’ ramen. Some said they only serve a few bowls of these per night and I have yet to figure out why!

Notes:
– Photos taken online as I was too hungry to take any
– You can find them here – Ukokkei Ramen Ron (Tesoro Bldg., 822 A. Arnaiz Ave.)
– If Makati is far, they also have a branch in Mabini, Malate

Impromptu dinners are best!

My childhood bestfriend Jaq was in town (again!) and we met up for an impromptu dinner late Sunday night! Yes, I know it’s a weird time to go out and eat (and drink a little hehe), but how can I not resist seeing this gorgeous lady!

It was nice seeing you again bru, when you’re back in December we should hang out longer, sobrang bitin! Love you! ๐Ÿ™‚

Best 6th birthday, ever!

My nephew Simon, loving his balloon and cake!

The family! My sisters, niece, nephew, and bro-in-law.

It’s Time

So this is what you meant
When you said that you were spent
And now it’s time to build from the bottom of the pit
Right to the top
Don’t hold back
Packing my bags and giving the academy a rain check

I don’t ever want to let you down
I don’t ever want to leave this town
‘Cause after all
This city never sleeps at night

It’s time to begin, isn’t it?
I get a little bit bigger, but then I’ll admit
I’m just the same as I was
Now don’t you understand
That I’m never changing who I am

So this is where you fell
And I am left to sell
The path to heaven runs through miles of clouded hell
Right to the top
Don’t look back
Turning to rags and giving the commodities a rain check

I don’t ever want to let you down
I don’t ever want to leave this town
‘Cause after all
This city never sleeps at night

It’s time to begin, isn’t it?
I get a little bit bigger but then I’ll admit
I’m just the same as I was
Now don’t you understand
That I’m never changing who I am

It’s time to begin, isn’t it?
I get a little bit bigger, but then I’ll admit
I’m just the same as I was
Now don’t you understand
That I’m never changing who I am

This road never looked so lonely
This house doesn’t burn down slowly
To ashes, to ashes

It’s time to begin, isn’t it?
I get a little bit bigger, but then I’ll admit
I’m just the same as I was
Now don’t you understand
That I’m never changing who I am

It’s time to begin, isn’t it?
I get a little bit bigger, but then I’ll admit
I’m just the same as I was
Now don’t you understand
That I’m never changing who I am

Love for YABU!

Okay, this is not a promotion of any sort nor a food blog/review. If you know me well you know that I LOVE going around restos pigging out. I crave for different cuisines almost everyday, and Yabu is always in the list when it’s time to eat Jap!

Guess what?! I just won myself 1000php worth of Yabu GCs!!ย How cool is that?? Thank you Runaround Girl for giving away these prizes!

Funny story — one of my friends tweeted me that morning when the news was published but I just couldn’t claim it was me as my name is pretty common! haha! I just had to be sure before I bragged about it! ๐Ÿ™‚

Do I sound OA? Well I’m just not lucky with raffle draws or contests, especially online. Yes, I’m on a first timer mode, so allow me if you will, to enjoy this very special moment hehe

Anyway,ย here it is!! Ta da!!

P1000 worth of GCs and a Yabu Katsu Curry Shirt!

Next problem is, who should I dine with? haha! These can buy me about 3 sets of katsu/shrimps! Nom nom nom! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks again Runaround Girl! Guys please do visit her blog (http://runaroundgirl.wordpress.com) and follow her Instagram (@runaroundgirl) too!

Trust me, if you’re a food explorer, you’ll love her suggestions and the places she eats at!
